August 2001 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Thrifty Car Sales Names Holder Staff Vice President TULSA, Okla. - Thrifty Car Sales, the nation's leading franchisor of non-manufacturer branded used car dealerships, recently named Jim Holder to the position of Staff Vice President. He will report directly to Jay Betz, President of Thrifty Car Sales. Holder will have responsibility for Franchise Sales, Dealer Operations, Vendor Relationships, Technology, Training and Customer Care. "This is an exciting time for Thrifty Car Sales, as we continue to grow nationally at a solid pace," said Betz. "We will benefit greatly from Jim's strong background in small business, finance, sales and distribution." Most recently, Holder served as Vice President and Region Manager with Fleetwood Retail Corporation, where he managed a network of distributorships throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas and served on the company's steering committee for national strategy. His experience in operations, including inventory management, wholesale and retail financing and dealer relations are well matched to the responsibilities he will hold with Thrifty Car Sales. Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Ely Energy, a $50 million manufacturer of natural gas back-up systems. He has also worked for Coopers & Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers) in Tulsa and Denver, specializing in Emerging Business Services. To date, Thrifty Car Sales has signed 60 dealer agreements in 23 states, with 40 stores currently operational. By 2005, Thrifty Car Sales plans to have as many as 300 U.S. locations.
